The gray paint trend is still going strong and I often get asked what are my favorite light gray paint colors for walls. The house was a builder's house in a new development, and the client had repainted when he moved in, but felt the colour, which was a very cold blue-grey, was not quite right. The builder had used a nice stone on the fireplace with warm gray undertones, beige carpeting, medium dark wood floors (not too red which was nice), espresso colored cabinetry, and then granite counter tops which were mostly golden with flecks of burgundy. These are my warm light gray paint colors and my go-to in just about every room I know I'm not doing in color or beige.

What Wall Colors For Dark Wood Floors Are Best?
Whether it's ash, birch, bamboo, white oak, or another light wood, many people appreciate light hardwood floors for their ability to feel clean and bright. If that's what you like about your light wood floors, the best way to accentuate that feature is to keep your walls light colored as well. If you've ever looked at paint colors before, you know there are endless shades of white to choose from. Because cream is a warm color, only use it if your floors have warm undertones. If you decide to paint your walls cream, look for a shade with just enough color to appear warm without being too dark. As with white, it can come in a plethora of shades, so be sure to pick one with the right shades to complement your floors. Technically, undertones can be pink, blue, green, or any other color, but the easiest way to account for undertones is to determine if your floors have warm or cool undertones, then assess each paint color to see if it is warm or cool. grey. Beige, greige or taupeShades of beige and taupe have long been popular neutral shades that offer a bit more color than white or gray and are generally darker than cream. Therefore, beige walls work best with warm colored hardwood floors. If you're going for a light and airy look and opting for a shade of white or off-white for your walls, paint your trim the same color as your walls. If you're not looking for a clean, crisp look and prefer to be bolder with your color choice, you can do so while staying consistent with the undertones of your wood floors. If your floors have cool, ashy undertones, yellow or orange walls will look out of place, but cool blues and greens will pair well with your floors. If your floors have warm undertones, you can opt for cream or yellow shades or something bolder, like a red clay color.

Paint Colours That Go With Natural Wood Trim
Combined with white walls (my favorite with woodwork), wood offers a natural, warm and modern look. If you have beautiful, rich, natural wood in your home on doors and/or trim, I encourage you to consider keeping it — or at least some of it — instead of painting it white. That said, if you have a ton of wood and it's making your home too dark, consider painting the ceiling and floor moldings, but leave the rest.# Images | Dark Floors Grey Walls White Trim - Lowe'S
